Charlottetown, P.E.I. Rolls Out Red Carpet For 2008 ESSO NationalsTuesday, March 11th, 2008 Charlottetown, P.E.I. –
Charlottetown has rolled out the Red Carpet for the 2008 ESSO Nationals as the Senior Women’s teams from Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island have already commenced action and the Opening Ceremonies for this year’s tournament will take place on Wednesday evening prior to the Club Teams opening play in their pool which have the WWHL 1 qualifier, the Calgary Oval X-treme, WWHL runner-ups, the Minnesota Whitecaps, the CWHL number 1 qualifier, the Brampton Canadette Thunder and the CWHL number 2 qualifier, the Mississauga Chiefs present and awaiting the opportunity to shine.
The Host city has done a marvelous job in preparation for this years tournament especially when you take into consideration that it is the very first time that Charlottetown has hosted such a premier event.
With two extremely evenly drawn pools fans can expect to see games, while sitting on the edge of their seats, that should produce nail biters, to the very end.
The Brampton Canadette Thunder and the Minnesota Whitecaps will kick things off for the club teams in game 1 with a 4:00 p.m. starting time on Thursday, with the Calgary Oval X-treme meeting the Mississauga Chief in game 2 at 7:30 p.m.
